Since 1989 he was Medical Director of the Department of Gynecology of the Virchow-Hospital. He was the chief physician of the Clinic for Gynaecology and Obstetrics of the Charité in Berlin (1998-2010).
Prof. Dr. Lichtenegger has published in his long career more than 290 specialist articles, more than 50 book chapters and 530 presentations.
